STEPPS EI (Systems Training for Emotional Predictability and Problem Solving, Early Intervention)
STEPPS EI is a group treatment program for those struggling with emotional intensity issues associated with Borderline Personality Disorder, as well as those just having a difficult time regulating intense emotions. This evidence-based educational program teaches individuals a variety of emotional and behavioral management skills. Group participants are encouraged to attend individual therapy along with STEPPS EI. This is a closed, in person group that meets for two hours once a week for 12 weeks.

Group Times: Wednesdays from 2:30pm to 4:30pm, starting with an orientation session Wednesday October 30th, 2:30pm
Location: New Beginnings Counseling Service, 6200 Aurora Ave, Suite 103E, Urbandale, IA 50322
Eligibility Criteria:
18 years and older.
Struggle with managing intense emotions.
All participants must have a psychosocial assessment completed by the time the groups start.
Participants are NOT required to be in therapy with New Beginnings, although it is recommended to be attending individual therapy in addition to this group.
Intake info:
Most health insurances cover STEPPS, including Medicaid and Medicare. Eligibility and co-pays (if any) will be determined case-by-case, check with your insurance provider.
